The Tesla Cybertruck is already regarded as one of the most unconventional vehicles of our time. Yet even its bold design was not the limit for Igor Klimin and Dmitriy Palkin, who set out to transform this production electric pickup into a true work of contemporary art.

Igor Klimin is widely regarded as one of today's most influential tattoo artists and calligraphers. His distinctive artistic style is recognized far beyond the tattoo industry, and his work has inspired artists around the world for many years. It was his creative vision that formed the foundation of this project, brought to life in collaboration with Dmitriy Palkin.

From Concept to a One-of-a-Kind Tesla Cybertruck

According to Dmitriy Palkin, the idea started quite simply.

"We originally planned to wrap the Cybertruck in matte black vinyl, but then we decided to take it a step further and create something truly unique."

When it became known that Igor Klimin would be spending a few days in Charlotte, the idea emerged to take advantage of the opportunity and create a collaborative project together. What had originally been planned as a simple vehicle wrap quickly evolved into a large-scale artistic creation.

Three Days of Work

The project began with the Cybertruck being fully wrapped in matte black vinyl. Once that was complete, the most exciting phase began. Over the course of three days, Igor Klimin and Dmitriy Palkin worked side by side, gradually transforming the vehicle into a striking work of art through an intricate calligraphic composition.

Automotive-grade paints were used throughout the project, including gloss black and two shades of gold. The combination of matte and glossy finishes creates a dynamic visual effect, causing the artwork to appear different as lighting conditions change throughout the day. Despite its intricate appearance, the entire design was applied over the vinyl wrap, allowing it to be removed at any time and the Cybertruck restored to its original appearance.

Behind the Scenes of the Project

Most people only ever see the finished result. In this case, however, nearly the entire creative process was documented—from the very first hours of preparing the vehicle to the final finishing touches.

That is precisely why the behind-the-scenes photographs are just as compelling as the completed artwork itself. They reveal the meticulous attention devoted to every detail, show how the composition gradually took shape, and capture the Cybertruck's transformation into a truly one-of-a-kind work of art with each stage of the project.

Perhaps that is why the finished piece invites viewers to return to it again and again. With every new look, different lines, subtle details, and the interplay of textures reveal themselves.

The Most Honest Review

"My favorite reaction comes from children. They run up to it, stare in amazement, shout, 'Wow!' and walk all the way around the truck, taking in every detail."

Perhaps there is no better measure of the project's success than that. The collaborative art project by Igor Klimin and Dmitriy Palkin is far more than an unconventional finish for a Tesla Cybertruck. It demonstrates how an automobile can become a canvas for contemporary art, and how the shared vision of two artists can be transformed into something truly impossible to ignore.

For Dmitriy Palkin, creativity extends far beyond the walls of the studio. In collaboration with Vlad Blad Irons, he recently introduced the Ultron 4 Pro By Dmitriy Palkin, a signature edition tattoo machine whose design is also inspired by his many years of experience in graffiti and lettering. The project is another example of how a distinctive artistic vision can be expressed not only through tattooing itself, but also through the professional tools an artist uses every day. A dedicated feature on this collaboration is available in a separate PULSE PMU publication.

Igor Klimin's creative work has likewise long expanded beyond tattooing and automotive art. Through his official website, the artist offers original paintings, fine art prints, apparel, and a variety of other products featuring his signature calligraphic artwork. Each piece continues his instantly recognizable visual language. As a result, Klimin's creations are found not only on walls, vehicles, and skin, but also in private collections and as part of the everyday lives of contemporary art enthusiasts.
