As my career evolved, I realized that helping someone regain a natural-looking areola after breast surgery, camouflage a scar, or improve the appearance of vitiligo has a profound emotional impact. Combining aesthetics with restorative care allows me to use my expertise not only to enhance features, but to help people heal, both physically and emotionally.

PULSE PMU: You have worked extensively with areola restoration, scar camouflage, and vitiligo correction. Which of these procedures has had the greatest emotional impact on you personally, and why?

Without a doubt, areola restoration has had the greatest emotional impact on me.

Restoring something that cancer or surgery has taken away is far more than a cosmetic procedure—it is about helping a woman reconnect with her body, her confidence, and her identity.

Witnessing that moment when she sees herself whole again is a privilege that reminds me why I chose this profession.

Medical micropigmentation requires far more than artistic talent.

It demands a deep understanding of skin anatomy, wound healing, color science, skin diseases and medical protocols, combined with empathy, precision, and strong ethical values.

Above all, you must understand that you are not simply enhancing appearance—you are helping restore confidence and quality of life.

PULSE PMU: Throughout your international career, how have you seen attitudes toward permanent makeup and para-medical pigmentation evolve in the Middle East and internationally?

Over the years, I have witnessed a significant shift from permanent makeup being perceived as a purely cosmetic service to being recognized as a highly specialized discipline.

Internationally and across the Middle East, there is now a stronger appreciation for advanced techniques, evidence-based practice, and the transformative role of para-medical pigmentation in both aesthetic enhancement and post-medical rehabilitation.

PULSE PMU: You collaborate closely with healthcare professionals. How important is interdisciplinary cooperation between PMU specialists, dermatologists, oncologists, and plastic surgeons?

Interdisciplinary collaboration is essential.

The best outcomes are achieved when para-medical cosmetologists specialized in permanent makeup work alongside dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and oncologists, with each professional contributing their expertise throughout the patient's journey.

I feel privileged to collaborate with outstanding physicians throughout my career, as this partnership not only ensures the highest standards of safety and care but also allows us to restore confidence, dignity, and quality of life through truly patient-centered treatment.

PULSE PMU: As an educator and trainer, what are the most common mistakes you see among new PMU artists, and what advice would you give them?

As an educator, I often see new PMU artists wanting to master advanced techniques before building a strong foundation.

Success in this field starts with understanding skin, color theory, facial anatomy, hygiene, and proper client consultation.

I also encourage artists not to compare themselves to social media trends. Every client is unique, and our responsibility is to create results that are safe, natural, and personalized.

My advice is simple: invest in high-quality education, be patient with your journey, practice consistently, and never stop learning. Technical skills are important, but professionalism, ethics, and genuine care for your clients are what truly build a lasting career and reputation.

PULSE PMU: Looking ahead, what developments or innovations do you believe will have the greatest impact on the future of permanent makeup and medical micropigmentation?

I believe the future of permanent makeup and medical micropigmentation will be driven by innovation, education, and a stronger integration with the medical field.

We are already seeing significant advances in pigments, devices, and techniques that deliver safer, more precise, and increasingly natural-looking results.

At the same time, the role of medical micropigmentation is expanding beyond aesthetics. Procedures such as areola restoration, scar camouflage, and pigment correction are becoming an important part of the patient's healing journey, helping restore confidence and quality of life.
